ABOUT
ÅSLJUNGAGÅRDEN
Åsljungagården was, until the arrival of the
railroad in the 1890´s, a village with twenty some farms and
about the same amount of houses and cottages. The cutting of trees
in the area increased when the transportation system improved, and
many carpentries and furniture factories opened by the railroad.
Some of these still exist and one of the early bakeries expanded to
the big and famous industry of Gillebagaren.
Åsljunga became a popular recreation and tourist place in
the early 1900´s, many thanks to the rail road. Especially
people from the big towns Helsingborg and Malmö, started
coming to the countryside to get fresh air.
Åsljungagården was built in the
1950´s. It was a combination of styles; sporty, modern and
robust all at the same time. There were cross country trails as
well as down hill slopes with a ski lift available for the
visitors, who came all the way from Denmark and further.
When the establishments Vallåsen and Kungsbygget later
were built, the competition for downhill skiers was too big for
Åsljungagården, which then focused on conferences and
golf groups instead. The area surrounding the hotel is still to
this day used daily by hikers, runners and families thanks to its
many beautiful trails of different lengths as well as
Skåneleden.

ABOUT US
The current owners of Åsljungagården have had it
since the summer of 2006. We are a family with different
backgrounds that has joined forces and run the hotel
together.
Our prior experience within the hotel- and restaurant businesses
come from big chains but also from family-run hotels such as this
one.
To take over and run a small and personal hotel such as
Åsljungagården is truly a pleasure for us. We now get
the opportunity to go back to the core of the hotel business; to
have time and take care of each individual guest.
